Clean Hands Can Save Lives!

Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care Reminds the Public Hand Hygiene Matters on International Hand Hygiene Day| Assalamualaikum. With the pandemic ongoing, hand hygiene continues to remain one of the most important measures to fight the spread of Covid-19. While social distancing and wearing masks are necessary when in public, without good hand hygiene these measures will not be as effective to protect ourselves, loved ones and the community around us.

In line with International Hand Hygiene day on May 5, Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care (RSDH) is taking the initiative to remind the public of the importance of keeping one’s hands clean through a public service campaign for adults and children. Different activities will be held by RSDH’s three hospitals in Malaysia under the “Seconds Save Lives - Clean Your Hands” campaign.

Among the activities at Ara Damansara Medical Centre (ADMC) are hand hygiene demonstration for patients and their families, soap-making which is open to public and staff. In addition, there will be ultraviolet hand scanning demonstration and a selfie board for the public and staff to take pictures of their best hand hygiene efforts and post on the official Facebook of ADMC.

ADMC will also hold an on-site talk entitled “Are you washing your hands the RIGHT way?” for corporate clients and their employees to reiterate the importance of hand hygiene.

The hospital is also set on raising awareness among the public with interactive social media postings including videos on the complete handwashing steps by Satvinder Kaur Prem Singh, Infection Control Nurse and seven easy steps to wash hands by children with a special ending message on importance of hand hygiene by Dr Rakhee Yadav, Consultant Paediatrician.

Over at Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC), the hospital will be hosting a fun and interactive Instagram story quiz regarding hand hygiene that followers and public can participate in. Displays of hand hygiene awareness on LCD screens can also be located throughout the link bridge as well as at the outpatient centre for the staff and public.

Stepping up their efforts, SJMC will set up a booth with UV box experience with a view to educate public on the importance hand hygiene. The public can stand a chance to win exciting mystery gifts!

ParkCity Medical Centre (PMC) will raise awareness through posters at its premises and by distributing leaflets on good hygiene practices and its life-saving benefits to the public as a reminder.

The public can rest assured that the RSDH hospitals will take stringent measures to ensure the highest safety standards during the campaign.
